After a busy summer holiday, it’s back to an even busier routine for mums, dads, grandparents, aunties, uncles, childminders and babysitters. Of course, it’s always nice to get cooking and make a meal from scratch, but for those nights where after-school clubs, dance classes, football practice and other activities put the squeeze on teatime, a ready-in-minutes menu can come to the rescue. Here are our favourite combos from the frozen aisle.
They’ll clear their plate almost as quickly as you can cook this fun little combo up. If they’re not a fan of fish, swap out the fish fingers for chicken dippers.
Of course...the go-to treat for busy days is always a hit with little children, big kids and rushed kids at heart. Buy a few different toppings for everyone to share, or buy smaller pizzas and throw on fresh toppings for those individual orders.
One of the must-haves in your freezer, burger and fries is an easy tea for when they’re hungry and just can’t wait to get stuck in. Switch to a chicken burger or a veggie alternative to mix things up each week.
Kids will love this meal as a treat (especially dipping the garlic bread into the sauce), and you can choose a vegetarian lasagne if you prefer.
Freezer meals aren’t just for the kids - it’s always fun to take a trip down memory lane and enjoy a ‘kids tea’ every now and then.
An old favourite even with the young ones - this dish is great for a midweek family meal when you want something satisfying but quick and easy to prepare.
Great for a midweek mini-roast, without cooking the roast. Lamb is great for mixing things up at mealtimes, and Smiles add a fun to their plate too.
This one’s great if you need or choose to keep their teas meat-free, and mixing in the mediterranean vegetables as you cook the Quorn on the hob makes it a little bit more ‘grown’ up too. Lots of other frozen veg is available though, so you can take your pick and add whatever they like best.
A great way to get some more veggies onto their plate. Swap to another filling if they like more meat in their pies.
This quick 'Makeaway' is fun for a Friday - just cook up a bowl ful, slice up some cucumber and spring onions and let everyone dive in.
