Whether you’re looking for a way to treat Dad to a truly indulgent meal this weekend, or simply want to tuck in as a family treat, our ‘surf & turf’ deal is certainly one to look out for.
The deal includes one Morrisons The Best Tomahawk steak and two Black Tiger Prawns for just £20.
The Tomahawk steak weighs in at a huge 900g - the equivalent of nearly four average rump steaks. It’s served on the bone, and is hand-prepared by our Morrisons butchers at our food making sites. The meat will also have been matured here for 21 days, helping to make sure it becomes one tasty dish.
The Black Tiger prawns on the other hand, are 25cm long and weigh approximately 111g each - that’s more than eight times the size and 27 times the weight of your average cold water prawns, which are usually around 3cm long and weigh about 4g.
Our £20 Father’s Day deal is set to be a popular one - last year our Father’s Day Tomahawk steak offer sold around 10,000 steaks over one weekend - so be sure to make the most of it while it lasts. We’re running the offer from the 13th to the 16th June in the majority of our stores (317 stores), and it’ll be available while stocks last, so if it sounds like your Dad’s ideal Father’s Day dinner, be sure to check it out this weekend.
Jodie Bolland, Senior Meat Buyer here at Morrisons adds: “The giant surf and turf is our meatiest challenge yet for Dads on Father's Day. We hope they enjoy it this weekend – whether they’re attempting it solo or enjoying it as a family meal.”
If you’d prefer to have more ‘surf’ than ‘turf’ or vice versa, the Black Tiger prawns and Tomahawk steaks will be available to be purchased separately, with the steak available at £15, and two Black Tiger prawns available for £5.
And if you’d prefer a slightly smaller portion, feel free to chat to one of our professional in-store butchers who will be more than happy to cut a smaller steak for you, such as a fillet, rump, ribeye or sirloin. All our beef is sourced directly from British farmers, and our in-store butchers are always on hand to help out, they can bone, trim, seam and prepare steaks for you, as well as provide handy tips and advice on recipe ideas, cooking techniques and even wine pairings.
