Welcoming Falfish to our manufacturing business

This week, we welcomed family-owned wholesaler of sustainably sourced seafood Falfish to our manufacturing business. 

Based in Cornwall, they've been one of our trusted suppliers for over 16 years, so we're thrilled to welcome them to our business. 

For our customers, this means we'll be able to bring you an even wider range of quality fresh fish and shellfish. It also means that now, 80% of the fish and shellfish we sell both in store and online will come from Morrisons wholly owned seafood operations. 

Bringing you the freshest catch

Grilled Mackerel Salad

Ingredients

  • 180g green lentils
  • 4 mackerel, filleted
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 150g radishes, sliced
  • 2 carrots, coarsely grated
  • 70g wild rocket
  • 1 orange, juice and zest only
  • 1 tsp horseradish sauce

Total time required   30 mins
Preparation time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 25 mins

Instructions

Bring a pan of water to the boil and cook the lentils for 25 minutes until tender. Drain well.
Place the 8 mackerel fillets on to a baking tray, skin side up, and cut 3 slashes into the skin of each. Mix 1 tbsp oil and paprika and brush over the top of each fillet. Grill for 6-7 minutes until cooked through.
Toss together the radishes, carrots and rocket, fold in the cooked lentils and divide between 4 serving plates. Top each with 2 mackerel fillets.
Whisk together the orange and horseradish sauce with 1 tbsp of the oil and drizzle over to serve.

Prawn, Scallop & Chorizo Pil Pil

Ingredients

  • 200g Chorizo, sliced
  • 200g King Scallops
  • 300g Raw King Prawns, deshelled
  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 red chilli, chopped
  • 1 large handful Parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sweet smoked paprika

Total time required   25 mins
Cooking time: 25 mins

Instructions

Heat a large skillet pan over a high heat and add chorizo. Cook for 5 mins ensuring to stir occassionally before transferring to a plate.
Add the oil to the pan over a medium heat, add garlic and chilli and cook for 2 mins.
Add the prawns and scallops and cook for 5 mins until the prawns are pink and juicy and scallops caramelised. Ensure you flip the scallops occasionally for an even cook.
Add seasoning, parsely and paprika, stir through and enjoy with crusty garlic bread! The perfect Spanish Supper for a Summers day.
