Wine and cheese pairings are a great way to add a little extra 'occasion' to the festive season. Here’s a selection of nibbles from our Morrisons The Best cheese range to help you put together a top tasting board - and pair your Brie, Cheddar and Blue with the right reds, whites and roses.

Traditionally, wine and cheese from the same region would be served together. Now though, with the surge in British producers, we're big fans of crumbling, slicing and nibbling cheese from around the UK with our wines. A rule of thumb is to go for sharp, tangy wines with creamy and soft cheeses, and plump for reds and mellow wines with harder varieties.

Picking Cheese For Your Wine & Cheese Pairings

For a cheeseboard, a good rule is to have three varieties – a hard cheese such as Cheddar, a soft cheese such as Brie, and a blue cheese. Allow 70g per person if serving as a course at the end of a meal. Remember to take out of the fridge an hour before serving (but keep it covered) to allow the flavours to develop. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

If you see something you like the look of at the deli counter in your local store, just ask a member of staff for a taste.
