Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, falls on 25th February this year. It’s a great opportunity to get in the kitchen and cook up some delicious treats. An oat and egg white pancake makes a tasty base for smoked fish (try mackerel, too). The combination is packed with protein and leaving out the yolks means fewer calories too.

Greek Yogurt, Banana & Cinnamon

This one’s great for those who have a sweet tooth - but also for getting some fruit onto your little one’s plate. For an even sweeter treat, swap the yogurt for a big dollop of ice cream.

These delicious, fluffy buttermilk pancakes give you something different to try - and taste great topped with caramelised apples and drizzled golden syrup.
