Family 'Ghoulash' Traybake

Ingredients

  • 800g diced stewing beef
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 2 tbsp hungarian paprika not smoked
  • Salt and pepper to season
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 250ml water
  • 1 Beef stock cube
  • 15g chopped flat parsley
  • 100ml sour cream
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1 large red pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 pack of ready rolled shortcrust pastry
  • 1 black gel pastry writing pen

Method

  1. In a casserole dish or heavy saucepan heat the oil.
  2. Season the beef with salt, the paprika and milled pepper.
  3. Fry off the beef in small batches.
  4. When all the beef is browned pour over the tomatoes, water, beef stock cube, garlic, cover with a lid and cook in a preheated oven 150 C until the beef is almost tender.
  5. Cut out Ghouls from your pastry sheet and place on a non-stick baking tray.
  6. Add the eyes and mouth with your black gel pen.
  7. Saute all the potatoes and peppers in a heavy frying pan little oil until lightly browned.
  8. Add the vegetables to the casserole dish and cook until the beef and potatoes are cooked.
  9. Bake your pastry ghouls in a preheated oven at 180 C until golden brown.
  10. Stir in the sour cream, add your pastry Ghouls, and serve.

Graveyard Chilli Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 600g lean beef mince
  • 400g chopped tomatoes
  • 1 level tbsp chipotle chilli paste, or to your taste
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 400g kidney beans
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 pack of tortilla wraps
  • 1 black gel pen

Method

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan and fry garlic and onion gently for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add the peppers and stir for a couple more minutes.
  3. Put in mince and cook until lightly browned.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, chilli paste and ground cumin - season with salt pepper.
  5. Bring to boil and simmer on a low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Then put in the kidney beans and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Cut and create fun Halloween shapes such as gravestones and ghouls with the tortilla wraps.
  8. Write on the grave stones and add eyes to the ghouls.
  9.  Place the shapes on a non-stick baking tray and bake the tortilla chips until golden and crisp.
  10. To serve pour your cooked chilli into a serving dish and add your tortilla halloween shapes.

Severed Zombie Eclair Fingers

Ingredients

  • 4 x Chocolate Eclairs
  • 1 packet of Halloween Zombie Fingers
  • 100g white cooking chocolate
  • Red food colouring
  • Raspberry sauce

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate add the red food colouring until blood red.
  2. Stick on the Zombie fingers with the chocolate.
  3. Dribble white chocolate and raspberry sauce across the zombie finger.

Chocolate & Orange Pumpkin Doughnuts

Ingredients

  • 5 x Market Street Chocolate & Orange Doughnuts
  • 200g white cooking chocolate
  • Orange food colouring
  • 1 x pack of Petrified Pumpkins

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate reserving 50g for grating and add the orange food colouring until pumpkin orange.
  2. Dip the Chocolate orange Doughnuts into the melted chocolate until they are coated on one side.
  3. Stick on a petrified pumpkin.
  4. Grate a little of the the 50g of white chocolate to decorate.
  5. Set aside to dry.

Meringue Ghosts

Ingredients

  • 1 x the Best Meringue Nests
  • 1 x the Best Mini Meringue shells
  • 1 x the Best Raspberry Jam
  • 1 x punnet of raspberries
  • 300ml double cream
  • 40g caster sugar
  • Dark cooking chocolate

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate place in a piping bag and allow to cool.
  2. Place the sugar and cream into a mixing bowl and whip until the cream is stiff.
  3. Add a spoon full of raspberry jam into the Meringue nest.
  4. Add three raspberries and pipe in some of the whipped cream.
  5. Top with a mini meringue and use the melted chocolate to pipe on the ghost eyes and mouth.
