Cupid's Cherry Bursts

What’s sweeter than a homemade pressie (extra points if it’s edible!) Level up your choccie game this year with Cupid’s Cherry Bursts. 5 delicious ingredients, 5 easy steps, infinite post-gifting brownie points! 🍫🍒

Ingredients

  • 400g brownies crumbled
  • 300g chocolate OR salted caramel frosting
  • 225g jar Maraschino cherries/cocktail cherries drained
  • 150g Lindt Double Chocolate
  • 100g dark chocolate

To sprinkle (optional):

  • Crushed hazelnuts, sprinkles or chocolate curls
  • Edible gold dust

Method

  1. Line a large baking tray with baking paper and pop to one side, before adding your crumbled brownies to a large bowl and mix through your chosen frosting until smooth-ish and pliable.
  2. Pinch away a little at a time (larger than a cherry) and roll into 24 balls. Use your finger to create an indent in the centre of each for your cherry, nestle within and mould around it so that the stem is sticking out of the top of each and they form a ball shape (do not worry if they do not have stems). Pop all on your lined baking tray.
  3. Add both chocolates to a heatproof bowl over a deep pan of simmering water and melt, ensuring to stir as you go (make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water).
  4. Dip each brownie-coated cherry in the chocolate, shake off any excess and pop back on your tray (hold by the stem, or use a fork to dip).
  5. Sprinkle all over with your toppings of choice and allow to set in the fridge for 1 hour for an indulgent, post-dinner treat!
