In January 2017, Morrisons colleagues voted for CLIC Sargent - the UK’s biggest children and young people’s cancer charity - to become our charity partner for the next three years. Due to the partnership’s success, this has now been extended by one more year, until 2021. Together we'll help children, young people and their families fight cancer. On this page you'll find stories from just some of the people this amazing organisation has helped, along with updates on Morrisons fundraising and special events. You can find out more about CLIC Sargent's work as well as useful information and support on their website.

Tawanda’s Story

“The support from CLIC Sargent helped me to keep on track with my education and not lose sight of the end goals which is so important.”

18 year old Tawanda was just three weeks away from starting his Sports Therapy degree at University of Kent when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He relapsed after his second year at university and had to defer for a second time. Despite all of this and having to learn how to walk, talk and swallow following his treatment, Tawanda completed his degree and graduated in July, 5 years after his first diagnosis.

We'll help to raise funds that will allow CLIC Sargent to create a brand new team of CLIC Sargent Nurses, who will educate other health, social care and education professionals close to families’ homes. This will spread the skills and experience needed to provide the best possible care for young lives against cancer.

Together, we will create new 'Home Hubs' close to Specialist Treatment Hospitals, which will provide a welcoming environment where families can take a much needed break from the intensity of the hospital ward, and grandparents, parents and siblings can have a cup of tea and chat

Practical things

Working together, we will be able to help expand CLIC Sargent's financial grants to families, which will in turn allow them to focus on important things like getting well. CLIC Sargent also want to develop a groundbreaking new digital hub, giving thousands of families home access to advice from healthcare professionals.
